Lao Niu Biodiversity Protection
“Lao Niu Biodiversity Protection” has donation of 9 million RMB from Lao Niu Foundation, which initiates the establishment of “Sichuan Nature Conservation Foundation” jointly with 18 organizations including TNC, Alibaba (China) Co., Ltd., and Tencent Foundation, working on biodiversity conservation in Sichuan Province.
This project has established “The Old Creek Nature Reserve”; established a scientific research cooperation platform with Peking University, Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment of Chinese Academy of Sciences, BGI and other institutes; completed intelligent analysis and application development of the video surveillance system in the reserve area; and published 13 SCI papers and found 3 new species.
