Global Chinese Philanthropy Initiative (GCPI)

In 2014, Lao Niu Foundation donated 500,000 USD and cooperated with Asian Americans Advancing Justice – LA to carry out this project, focusing on the philanthropy of Chinese-Americans and Chinese philanthropists in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other cities, and conducting research on them. The project aims to promote Sino-U.S. philanthropist dialogue and cooperation to improve Sino-U.S. relations, promote the next generation of public and private Chinese and Chinese-American leaders to carry out charitable activities, and promote Chinese-American and Chinese people to become the role model of active contribution in the U.S. and Greater China Region. The project seeks to establish social awareness and environment in order to promote donation behavior, effective system, support for the industry, and improvement of life.

On September 6, 2017 Los Angeles time, GCPI Exchange Conference was held at Westin, releasing Chinese and Chinese-American Philanthropists research report for the first time. Later, this project held exchange conferences in Hong Kong and New York successively to interpret the research report; and brought together a group of world-class thought leadership leaders, philanthropists, scholars, experts, and foundation representatives for dialogues to discuss the future development of ethnic Chinese charity affairs in China and the U.S.
